(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) – The EWGA (Executive Women’s Golf Association) Foundation recognizes the importance of education regardless of age. As the creators of a scholarship program known as Women On Par®, the Foundation provides financial assistance to nontraditional female students-women who are thirty years of age and older who are interested in beginning or completing their undergraduate education to allow them to get “on par” with their peers and advance themselves both professionally and personally.
The program was established as an outreach program from the EWGA, the Golf Community for Women. Since the program’s inception in 2007, twelve women have received scholarships, in seven different states. As the New Year begins, the EWGA Foundation announces that their 2015 Women On Par Scholarship Application period is now open.
The EWGA Foundation will be accepting applications until April 15, 2015, or until 200 applications are received, whichever occurs first. There will be two (2) scholarships awarded: One (1) $1,000 Women On Par® scholarship and one (1) $500 Women On Par® scholarship.
EWGA membership is not a requirement to apply or receive a scholarship. Applicants are required to be pursuing a technical/vocational degree, associates or bachelor’s degree and currently enrolled or accepted to enroll in an accredited school, college or university. “The ‘Women On Par®’ scholarship program is one of the most important and rewarding programs we have. ” says Nona Footz, president of the EWGA Foundation. “It provides a sense of hope and gives nontraditional “older” students a chance to pursue their academic dreams. This program is one of the many facets that really resonates with EWGA’s motto, enriching the lives of women both personally and professionally.”
