World-class iron company breaks own gold medal record for irons in a single year; Ten medals in total awarded to Mizuno in the 2015 Golf Digest “Hot List”
Norcross, Ga. – (January 23, 2015) – Mizuno, the global leader in iron technology and performance, set the standard for gold medals in the iron category by dominating the Golf Digest 2015 “Hot List” to the tune of six gold medals, making Mizuno the most decorated company in 2015. The six iron gold medal winners include: JPX-850 Forged, JPX-850, JPX-EZ, MP-15, MP-H5, and MP-54.
“Being recognized by the industry for the product we put into market is a true honor,” said Chuck Couch, VP of Product Management, Golf Division. “To attain this level of success is a testament to the team’s hard work and ability to push the envelope with new product. We’re always looking for ways to increase the look, feel and performance of our irons. These gold medals further validate our position as the undisputed iron authority.”
Mizuno introduced its JPX line of game-improvement irons in 2011, with a clear-cut mission to solidify the same superior position it holds in the better player iron category with equally impressive game improvement and super game improvement irons. Results of the 2015 Golf Digest ‘Hot List’ further illustrates how Mizuno’s mission is clearly being accomplished.
“Simply put, the R&D behind Mizuno’s 2015 product line is world class and took a lot of meticulous attention to detail, out of the box thinking and many man hours to create,” said David Llewellyn, Golf Club R&D Manager, Mizuno USA. “Earning six gold medals for our irons solidifies the impact our new technologies and innovations are having in golfers’ minds and on golf play.”
In total, Mizuno earned 10 “Hot List” medals including additional Gold Medals for the MP-T5 Wedge and JPX-850 Fairway Wood, and Silver Medals for the JPX-850 Driver and JPX-850 Hybrid.
