HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Palmetto Hall Plantation Club, a Heritage Golf Group property on Hilton Head Island, SC, is proud to announce it will host the Palmetto Hall Championship. On Sunday, February 8, the Club hosted the 2015 season-opening eGolf Tour Qualifier. The eGolf Tour Championship marked the Tour’s seventh trip to Palmetto Hall Plantation Club over six years. Last December, the Club held the season-ending eGolf Tour Championship which boasts a field of top players from around the world and a $300,000 purse.
Brock Elder (pictured right), Caddie at the May River Golf Club, was the eGolf season-opener tournament winner. The former All-American Greensboro College Golfer finished the tournament at the top of the leaderboard with a 73. Elder’s one over par secured him a spot in the eGolf Tour Palmetto Hall Championship set to be contested at Palmetto Hall Plantation Club.
The 2015 eGolf Gateway Tour East Coast season will open on February 25-28, 2015 with the sixth annual Palmetto Hall Championship. The 2015 Palmetto Hall Championship will be a 72-hole, walking event held on both the Robert Cupp and Arthur Hills courses. The Cupp course will serve as the main course for this event. The event will feature a minimum guaranteed purse of $100,000 which is set to increase based on participation for every player in the field over 100. The tournament winner and 36 hole leader will earn exemptions into the Web.com Tour’s $625,000 Rex Hospital Open this May.
“Our Staff and Members are once again thrilled to host the season opening tournament at Palmetto Hall Plantation Club,” said Lisa Dahlstrom, Director of Revenue, Sales & Marketing at The Heritage Collection on Hilton Head Island. “With this being our sixth consecutive year, it’s always exciting to reunite with some of the returning players from around the world.”
General Manager of Palmetto Hall Plantation Club, Dan Moscar said, “The players on the eGolf Tour really enjoy the quality and condition of the golf courses here at Palmetto Hall Plantation Club. We, as a company and a staff, love providing the players an opportunity to play such a great course.”
The Palmetto Hall Championship has produced some of the highest winning scores on the eGolf Tour in recent years, with just three players reaching double digits under par over the past three seasons, in turn adding further credence to the club’s reputation as a championship-caliber venue. The tournament, annually one of the most popular on tour, has produced champions such as current PGA TOUR member Russell Knox (2010), former PGA TOUR member Brent Delahoussaye (2012), current Web.com Tour members Matt Hendrix (2013) and Corey Nagy (2011), and 2011 Western Amateur champion Ethan Tracy (2014).
