(Vista, CA – February 23, 2015)-
VISTA, Calif. – The winner of the 2015 Northern Trust Open claimed his first PGA Tour victory at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades on Sunday when he sunk a 25-foot birdie putt on the third playoff hole to beat his opponent. Both players in the final playoff were playing Fujikura shafts. The winner used a Fujikura Motore Speeder 6.3 x flex shaft in his TaylorMade driver and the individual who lost in the playoff used a Fujikura Speeder Evolution 661 in his TaylorMade driver.
That’s two driver wins in a row for Fujikura Golf shafts. Last weekend at the AT&T at Pebble Beach, the champion was also using a Fujikura Speeder 661 x flex in his TaylorMade driver.
Fujikura golf shafts have been among the most trending conversations with the debut of their 2015 product offering at the PGA Merchandising Show in Orlando last month. In fact, the Darrell Survey reported there were an astonishing 72 Speeder shafts put into play at the Open tournament leading into the PGA Show which was the week before the new Speeder Evolution series was officially launched to the public. That count is Speeder branded shafts only and does not include the other Fujikura models such as the PRO and Fuel shafts which have claimed many wins.
The new Speeder Evolution series was developed using Fujikura’s proprietary ENSO technology which enables Fujikura engineers to design shafts to have proven benefits to optimizing the club performance as a whole vs. other shafts that are designed independently of the club head or the player’s swing type. In this instance, Fujikura designed a shaft that contributes to enhanced club head speeds, which results in added distance without sacrificing stability and accuracy. The reports from players on and off the tour have confirmed that the shaft does exactly that.
Marketing Manager at Fujikura, Stephanie Hartgraves says, “In a competitive scenario, a couple MPH can mean the extra yardage and enhanced accuracy that can mean the game.
