ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 26, 2015 – GolfNow, the leading online tee time booking and golf course technology and services platform, announced that Free Golf for Life is now the brand’s highest engaged sweepstakes ever. The sweepstakes has received more than 145,000 unique entries through Feb. 25, in only four weeks since initially launching on Jan. 28. GolfNow’s previous most successful sweepstakes ever was conducted in 2013, when golfers were given a chance to win a free round of golf with 2010 U.S. Open winner Graeme McDowell. That campaign ran for 14 weeks and saw more than 132,000 unique entries. Free Golf for Life will continue for an additional 11 weeks, with golfers having an opportunity to register for a chance to win between now and Monday, April 13.
Several dedicated marketing and promotional initiatives have contributed to the outpouring of interest among avid golfers seeking Free Golf for Life. The sweepstakes was prominently featured within NBC Sports’ Super Bowl XLIX pre-game coverage, with a national spot centered around “Lucky Chuck” and his unlucky leprechaun co-worker. And, a short segment airing during pre-game coverage starred NFL legend Brian Urlacher and PGA TOUR winner Billy Horschel, with the pair ambushing a lucky foursome selected for a closest-to-the-pin challenge with Free Golf for Life on the line.
“The volume of interest we’ve received from avid golfers looking to win their chance at Free Golf for Life has been staggering,” said Jeff Foster, senior vice president, GolfNow New Media Group. “We were fortunate to have an opportunity to showcase Free Golf for Life through NBC Sports’ high-profile platform leading into the biggest sporting event in the world, which clearly caught the attention of casual and occasional golfers alike. And with the extraordinary reception of the Free Golf for Life sweepstakes, GolfNow is eager to continue to think of innovative and exciting opportunities to encourage more golfers to play more golf.”
