The Club Managers Association of Asia (CMAA) entered into a milestone agreement with eUniversity Pte Ltd to launch an exclusive e-learning platform to help deliver training and education to the club industry in Southeast Asia.
The agreement was inked in Singapore today between CMAA and eUniversity. Representing eUniversity, Sandip Labh, chief executive officer said, “We are excited with the collaboration with CMAA because we believe that this special arrangement will help deliver high quality training programmes to the club industry in the region.”
Mike Sebastian, president of the CMAA revealed that this collaboration will help upgrade the quality of human capital engaged in the club industry. “Like eUniversity, we believe that the e-learning platform will help us finally realise our mission to help put in place a high quality and sustainable learning landscape that will help train, accredit and certify hundreds of people engaged in the club profession.”
eUniversity offers one of the world’s largest catalogue of multimedia eLearning courses that cover most of the common training needs of organisations. “We will be working on a few levels of Learning Management Systems that will be specially designed to validate and accredit various levels of employees in the club industry and at the same time, we will be working towards the creation of a much needed certification programme for practicing clubs general managers,” Sebastian said.
“We have already started working with University to develop a Learning Management System that will lead to the Asian Certified Club Managers (ACCM) certification,” explained Lawrence Young, CMAA’s director of education.
This is only the beginning and in time, CMAA and eUniversity hope to provide e-learning based training and education programmes that will lead to certification in the field of agronomy which is urgently needed in the golf club industry in the region. “eUniversity goes way beyond a typical Learning Management System – it is a system, that has been designed to provide complete end-to-end learning processes, content and services that is both powerful and feature rich, yet intuitively easy to use, manage and address all aspects of an organisation’s e-Learning,” pointed out Labh.
Full details of the Learning Management System will be forthcoming within the next few weeks.
