Evans, GA. – Champions Retreat Golf Club, a private Heritage Golf Group property, is pleased to announce that Amanda Slayden has accepted the position of Director of Lodging. The Champions Retreat lodging amenities include specialized, custom-built Cottages (featuring four or eight master suites) available to rent or purchase.
As the Director of Lodging, Slayden will ensure that members and guests who experience the Cottages enjoy the Southern hospitality with elegant comfort, custom craftsmanship, privacy, and convenience. Cameron S. Wiebe, General Manager at Champions Retreat, said, “Amanda has immense training in both lodging and event planning. With experience that has included Ritz-Carlton training, as well as catering and event coordination with The Willcox, Amanda is a wonderful addition to an already strong team. She and her staff will continue to strive to exceed expectations in our Cottage experience.”
Slayden is a graduate from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management with an emphasis in Marketing, and a Minor in Business. She worked for The Westin Charlotte Hotel for seven years, and then she opened The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Downtown Charlotte. Slayden went on to become the Catering Manager for the historical Willcox Inn. Prior to her position at Champions Retreat, she most recently opened the Sheraton Conference Center in Downtown Columbia, SC.
Slayden is a member of the American Hotel and Lodging Association and an active volunteer for the Augusta Sports Council, Boy Scouts of America, Ronald McDonald House, and Shepeard Community Blood Center.
