Mississauga, ON, March 18, 2015 – Nikon Canada today announced MKRAK Management Inc. as the exclusive distributor of Nikon COOLSHOT Laser Rangefinders to the golf retail channel in Canada. MKRAK’s national sales team will use its extensive golf retail experience to place Nikon rangefinders in golf courses, small golf shops and large retailers, making Nikon’s industry-leading optics available to golfers across the country.

The COOLSHOT 40 is designed exclusively for measuring actual distance, while the COOLSHOT 40i incorporates ID Technology which displays the slope adjusted distance (Horizontal distance ± height) – ideal for use on golf courses with uphill and downhill slopes. Compact and rainproof, the COOLSHOT 40i and COOLSHOT 40 include a high-quality 6x monocular with multilayer coating for bright, clear images, and a measurement range of 7.5-590m/8-650 yards with accuracy within ±0.75m/yard. Quick and stable measurement response regardless of distance is ensured with Nikon’s original data-processing algorithm HYPER READ. When overlapping subjects are in view, First Target Priority mode displays the distance to the closest subject, which is useful when measuring the distance to a flagstick on a green with trees in the background.
In addition to these features, the COOLSHOT 40i includes continuous measurement for up to 8 seconds, and ID Technology to display slope adjusted distance. For example, for an uphill shot with an actual distance of 150 yards, the COOLSHOT 40i displays the slope adjusted distance (179.8 yards), which is the sum of the horizontal distance (146.4 yards) and the height (33.4 yards). Knowing the slope adjusted distance helps golfers choose the right club for uphill or downhill shots.
The COOLSHOT 20 is the smallest and lightest offering in the COOLSHOT series. Also rainproof, it includes a measurement range of 5- 500m/6-550 yards with accuracy to ±1m/yard (shorter than 100m/yards) and ±2m/yards (100m/yards).
MKRAK has already begun working with select retailers in Canada, with orders placed.
