Elite recruiting service connects junior golfers with prospective college coaches
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Georgia, March 19, 2015 – Sea Island, a five-star resort on the coast of Georgia, has just announced a partnership with Collegiate Golf Connection (CGC), a new recruiting service that connects junior golfers with prospective college coaches. CGC will direct candidates to Sea Island’s state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center (GPC) to complete comprehensive physical game assessments, a crucial recruiting tool for college golf coaches. In turn, Sea Island will promote CGC’s service as part of its comprehensive approach to game improvement, educating junior golfers on the benefits of CGC.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to help grow the game of golf and continue our deep commitment to junior and amateur golf across the country,” said Brannen Veal, director of golf at Sea Island. “Collegiate Golf Connection is a service that will revolutionize the collegiate golf recruiting experience.”
Founded by Stuart Moore, a former two-time All-SEC collegiate golfer for Auburn University, Collegiate Golf Connection offers a portal for players and coaches alike to connect and learn more about one another. Moore developed the service as a way cut through the noise and confusion of the college golf recruiting process. Player profiles on CGC are enhanced through the use of technology like Trackman Combine and SAM PuttLab Pro Evaluation – giving coaches more advanced metrics than ever before.
“Collegiate Golf Connection is all about helping high school golfers and college coaches navigate the chaos that is collegiate golf recruiting,” said Stuart Moore, founder and CEO. “Sea Island exhibits an unparalleled commitment to junior golf that fits perfectly with our plan to make recruiting easier and more effective.”
Sea Island has a long history of involvement in junior and amateur golf, dating back to its inception in 1928. Sea Island was founded by A.W. Jones, whose family instilled a strong commitment to amateur golf that has pervaded over the resort’s 85-plus year existence. Each year, Sea Island hosts the Jones Cup at Ocean Forest Golf Club at Sea Island, which is highly regarded as a top-three amateur golf event in the world.
Furthermore, Sea Island’s Golf Performance Center is a training ground and popular destination for top young golf talent. Throughout the year, the GPC and its renowned instructional staff provide junior golf camps and schools for boys and girls of any age and skill level.
