Scottsdale, AZ- Legacy of the Links, LLC, is pleased to announce teams from Australia, Canada and England will join the field the second annual Top 100 Invitational golf tournament at Pinehurst Resort on May 3-6, thus increasing the “international” player/team representation to six countries.
Up to 30, two-person teams will vie for the honor of being declared Legacy of the Link’s Top 100 Invitational Champions in three separate divisions- Men’s, Ladies and Mixed. The 36-hole competition will be played on courses No. 2 and No. 4, in a better-ball net format (with a maximum handicap of 18 for men and women). Winners of each division will receive a crystal trophy handcrafted by Tournament Sponsor Tipperary Crystal, now considered Ireland’s premier crystal manufacturer.
“We are extremely excited not only for this increase in international representation but also for the few mixed teams that have recently registered,” said Kevin McGrath, Co-founder of Legacy of the Links. “We are hoping a few Ladies teams will also sign up, for then we will have achieved our objective, a unique event which is fully inclusive.” According to McGrath, the tournament is open to any club or course that has earned a distinction on an official “Top 100” ranking list prior to the tournament.
Because “giving back to the game” is important to Legacy of the Links, the Top 100 Invitational will raise funds through an auction for the University of St. Andrews at “The Home of Golf” in Scotland for the purpose of building a golf museum on the university campus. The charity auction will include golf art and memorabilia as well as golf experiences at top-ranked courses and world-class resorts.
Tournament entry fee is $1,950.00 per person. It includes 3-nights lodging at the Pinehurst Resort (double occupancy), pairings party and welcome cocktail reception, Top 100 Hall of Fame induction ceremony, an awards banquet, two rounds of golf and tee gifts. (Resort fees, taxes & gratuities included). A single supplement fee of $350.00 will apply. There are now a very limited number of team spots still open.
