Ranks #1 in Putting Average and Putts Per Round on tour
WIXOM, Mich. – With the help of SuperStroke’s Flatso 1.0 and its patented parallel technology, Jordan Spieth finished in a tie for second place at the Shell Houston Open marking his sixth top 10 finish of the season. Heading to Augusta and the season’s first major, Spieth is riding an impressive hot streak with a win and two second place finishes in his last three tournaments.
Putting has played an integral role in Spieth’s success in 2015. In his win at the Valspar Championship, he jumped from third to first in Putts per Round for the season where he remains with a 27.53 Putts per Round average. At the Valero Texas Open, he finished the tournament in second place and ranked first in Putts per GIR with a 1.571 average and second in Strokes Gained-Putting with a total gain of 9.750 strokes.
So far for the season, Spieth ranks first in Putting Average with a 1.684 average through 34 rounds and ranks fifth in Strokes Gained-Putting with an average of .801 putts gained.
“Jordan has been playing SuperStroke’s Flatso 1.0 since he picked up at the HP Byron Nelson Championship in 2013,” said Greg Sabella, SuperStroke Vice President of Marketing. “Since his rookie year, Jordan has emerged as one of the elite putters on tour finishing in the top 5 in several putting categories each season.”
Five additional players using SuperStroke grips finished in the top 25 at the Shell Houston Open. A player who tied for 11th place playing SuperStroke’s Flatso 3.0 finished the tournament ranked third in Putts per Greens in Regulation with a 1.620 average. Victor Dubuisson, who finished in a tie for 17th playing SuperStroke’s Fatso 5.0 ranked second in Putts per GIR with an average of 1.583. He was also tied for fourth in Strokes Gained Putting with a total strokes gained of 5.353 for the tournament. Another player who was tied for 17th place playing SuperStroke’s JP-40 grip, finished the tournament ranked first in Putts per GIR with a 1.565 total and was ranked sixth in Strokes Gained Putting 5.239 strokes gained.
SuperStroke’s patented parallel technology design allows for even pressure in both hands, eliminating wrist movement in the putting stroke. This helps the golfer swing the putter more freely, making it easier to use the big muscles in the arms and shoulders, and minimizes one hand dominating the other.
