(Palm Beach Gardens, FL, April 15, 2015) Today is National Golf Day in Washington D.C. It’s a time when golf industry leaders including EWGA’s CEO Pam Swensen meet with legislators to discuss how golf impacts the national economy, its environmental value, fitness benefits, charitable contributions and accessibility.
Since 1991, the Executive Women’s Golf Association has connected more than 100,000 women through their organization by using the game of golf to create experiences, build connections and help women succeed both on and off the course. Their members alone contribute more than $66 million to the overall golf economy through leagues, volunteer opportunities, golf programs, events such as EWGA’s Championship Finals and their newest competitive series for 2015, the EWGA Par 3 Challenge.
For the EWGA, April is “Teeing Up for Success” month. This is a time where EWGA members across the country in hundreds of communities come together and show their support for other groups within the golf industry through volunteer opportunities and inviting more women into the game. Partnering with programs such as the First Tee, EWGA members become mentors and leaders to the next generation of golfers.
“For us, we have always seen the value in the game of golf as paramount to an industry that produces 2 million job opportunities and billions in economic and charitable impact,” says EWGA’s CEO Pam Swensen. “EWGA has always been about growing the game of golf by welcoming more women into the game, opening new doors and providing grassroots connections to play golf and elevate their game.”
