BELLINGHAM, Wash. – SteelFiber shafts, designed and manufactured by Aerotech Golf, claimed Top 10 money positions on all four top U.S. pro tours this past weekend. SteelFiber i95, i110 and i80 shafts delivered high performance success stories at events on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, LPGA Tour and Web.com Tour.
Playing SteelFiber i95 graphite iron shafts in his Bridgestone irons, the No. 17 ranked player in the world and former Players Championship winner took fifth-place at the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour. At the Greater Gwinnett Championship on the Champions Tour, SteelFiber shafts nailed down three Top 10s. Players using SteelFiber i110s in their irons took third-place and a fourth-place tie, while the SteelFiber i80s landed a T10 finish. On the Web.com Tour, one player relied on SteelFiber i110s for a T8 finish at the El Bosque Mexico Championship, and the No. 17 player on the LPGA money list used i80s in her irons for a T8 finish at the Lotte Championship on the LPGA Tour
“The growing popularity of SteelFiber shafts on the pro tours is just one reason that SteelFiber is recognized as the No. 1 graphite iron shaft in golf,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “Another is performance. Unlike any other shaft in the game today, SteelFiber shafts provide players with greater vibration dampening and reduced fatigue, while also delivering consistency, accuracy and stability. SteelFiber is revolutionizing the way we play the game. It’s a true game-changer.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
Last year, SteelFiber shafts delivered seven wins – three on the PGA Tour and two each on the Champions and LPGA Tours. The previous tour season was equally successful with SteelFiber chalking up five wins on the PGA TOUR and two more on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List.
