Chella Choi finished T4 in Hawaii with Orange S3, Laura Kueny jumps into top 10 in Volvik Race for the Card with runner-up finish on Symetra Tour
This week on Tour, professionals using Volvik golf balls earned two Top 5 finishes on the LPGA Tour and Symetra Tour.
Chella Choi finished T4 Sunday at the LOTTE Championship after shooting seven below par in Hawaii playing an Orange Volvik golf ball. The Top 5 finish was the 2nd of the season for Choi and her 12th Top 5 finish in the last three seasons since switching to a Volvik golf ball. Choi plays Volvik’s award-winning S3 golf ball, a 95-compression tour ball that has tested as one of the straightest and hence longest of all the tour balls on the market.
Choi earned $84,605 with her T4 finish and now ranks 21st in the official 2015 LPGA money list. Ten players were playing Volvik golf balls in the field at the LOTTE Championship, making Volvik one of the most used golf ball brands at the event.
Four Volvik staff players now rank in the Top 25 on the LPGA money list, including #13 Ilhee Lee (Yellow), #21 Choi (Orange), #23 Mi Hyang Lee (Orange) and #25 Pornanong Phatlum (Pink).
Nine events into the 2015 LPGA season, players using Volvik balls have earned six Top 5 finishes and 10 Top 10 finishes. That’s a 66% average of Top 5 finishes to events played and a 100% average in Top 10’s to events played.
This week the LPGA Tour heads to San Francisco for the second annual Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic at Lake Merced Golf Club.
On the Symetra Tour this week, Volvik Ambassador Laura Kueny finished -6 to score a T2 finish at the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial in Ft. Myers, FL. Kueny was also playing the Volvik S3 golf ball. Kueny skyrocketed from 86th to 9th in the Volvik Race for the Card standings with her runner-up finish.
