Hidden River Golf & Casting Club leads off with other members of 11-course collection opening in coming weeks
(PETOSKEY, Mich.) – BOYNE Golf – home to 11 premier golf courses spanning three resorts in the scenic northwest corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula – will kick-off the 2015 season when Hidden River Golf & Casting Club opens for play on Friday, April 24.
Located in Brutus, an easy 10-mile drive from Boyne Highlands Resort, the par 72, 7,101-yard course has been hailed by Golfweek as one of the state’s “Best Courses You Can Play.” Designed by Michigan native Bruce Mathews III, Hidden River is a player-friendly and impeccably-conditioned layout set amid tall pines. New for this season is a fully renovated lodge-style clubhouse overlooking the scenic Maple River and housing the acclaimed Rainbow Room restaurant.
BOYNE Golf’s other courses – all within a short distance of each other and in close proximity to Lake Michigan – will open on a rolling basis over the coming weeks.

“As spring arrives in northern Michigan, we are excited to kick off another golf season and are very pleased with the early condition of our courses,” says Bernie Friedrich, Boyne Resorts’ senior vice president of golf operations. “In addition to the new clubhouse at Hidden River, we have many new services and improvements that we look forward to sharing with guests.”
They include BOYNE Golf Academy’s installation of GEARS, the market’s most-advanced full-swing club and body tracking system. It is the Midwest’s first training center to offer the state-of-the-art platform.
Other noteworthy items for 2015 are construction of five new tee boxes on No. 18 of The Monument to substantially improve site lines and playability, and arrival of 72 tech-savvy EZ-GO TXT golf carts at The Heather equipped with USB ports to recharge mobile phones, rangefinders and other small electronics.
Other recent additions are the launch of apps featuring 3-D hole flyovers, yardage information and audio descriptions for 10 courses, as well as printed professional yardage books.
With courses designed and inspired by renowned architects like Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Arthur Hills and Donald Ross, BOYNE Golf’s three flagship resorts offer experiences to suit players of all ages and abilities.
