Inspired by a large turnout at the 2014 event in San Luis Obispo, California last April, this year’s Symposium on Affordable Golf finds itself in the middle of a major metropolitan area for the first time. The 6th annual event will be held at Tam O’ Shanter Golf Course in Canton, Ohio, on Monday, October 12th and Tuesday, October 13th.
Golfers are the most critical people to the SOAG because everything we discuss has a direct line to the ones we all in the industry serve the most: the golfer. With one of the highest golfer participation rates in the country, Northeast Ohio attendance should be the best ever. As in years past, the Symposium on Affordable Golf is free to attend for everyone and is not a success unless the golfer is an integral part of our discussions. Members of the PGA, LPGA and the GCSAA will earn Continuing Education Credits for attending the Symposium.
Topics this year include individual presentations as well as panel discussions and interactive group discussions. As a group, we will create our own business model for golf and learn directly from golfers as to what their true needs, wants and desires may be. Speakers include Debbie Waitkus, President and Founder of Golf for Cause, Roberto Balestrini, Founder of the American FootGolf League, and Mr. Kevin Kane, Publisher and Editor of the Virginia Golf Report. We will continue to explore the meaning of affordable golf and how we all can learn from mistakes of the past and adopt ideas for the future.
Please register now to be a part of this event. Come share ideas with like-minded golfers side by side with the golf industry’s finest in an effort to make the game more affordable for some facilities yet a better experience at all facilities. The Symposium on Affordable Golf is an effort to make the game and the business of golf a better product to be enjoyed for generations to come. Once again, we would like to thank the ASGCA and GCSAA for their continued support of the Symposium.
