Scottsdale, AZ- Legacy of the Links Top 100 Invitational golf tournament, set for Pinehurst Golf Resort on May 3-5, is more than a golf tournament; it also serves as the venue for the 2015 Top 100 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

On Monday May 4, immediately following the tournament’s first round, guests will enjoy cocktails at the Carolina Hotel where they’ll have an opportunity to view a variety of golf-related items specially selected for the event’s silent auction fundraiser.

Immediately following dinner, attendees will be inspired by two seasoned presenters. The first speaker, Audrey Moriarty, Director of the Tufts Archives, will provide insight on Top 100 Hall of Fame posthumous inductee, Richard S. Tufts, grandson of the founder of Pinehurst, James Walker Tufts, and former President of the USGA. Representing the Tufts Family at the induction ceremony will be Rick Tufts, grandson of honoree Richard S. Tufts.

The evening’s second speaker will be Golf Course Architect Richard Mandell, Associate ASGCA, and author of the seminal book The Legendary Evolution of Pinehurst, Home of American Golf. In addition to an astute presentation about Pinehurst, Mandell will serve as presenter for the posthumous Top 100 Hall of Fame induction of legendary golf course designer, Donald Ross.

On Tuesday evening, just prior to the closing ceremony and awards banquet, players and their guests will enjoy a presentation by Lee Pace, author of several books including The Golden Age of Pinehurst: The Story of the Rebirth of No. 2. Pace will enlighten participants on the recent restoration of Pinehurst No. 2, which was conducted by the design team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw (Coore & Crenshaw).
