Palm Springs, CA – May 1, 2015 – Whispering Pines Golf Course, part of the Columbus U.S. Air Force Base in Mississippi, becomes America’s 400th FootGolf facility Example link to course section. With it, Mississippi becomes the 47th state to host a FootGolf course.
“I am so excited about getting the Footgolf program at Columbus AFB and being able to say, “We are the FIRST in Mississippi,” said Pam Wickham, Whispering Pines Golf Course Manager. “We are always trying to find new programs to offer our military and their families and what’s even better is that the Air Force has endorsed the program. Dual-purposing the course might seem like a risk to some, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take to bring in something that has proven to be one of the fastest growing sports in the US. We’ll win, and our customers win – score one for Columbus AFB!”
“Being part of U.S. military bases is one of our dreams come true,” exclaimed AFGL president Laura Balestrini. “Bringing FootGolf to members of the armed forces and their families is another indication of FootGolf’s rapid acceptance as a new sport and game. We sincerely thank the U.S. Armed Forces for endorsing FootGolf, and look forward to hearing great stories from Pam about how Columbus Air Force base members and their families enjoy FootGolf.”
