The American FootGolf League (AFGL) is pleased to announce that GolfNews Magazine and GolfNewsMag.com will sponsor three female FootGolfers in the East Coast Series of the AFGL U.S. Pro-Am FootGolf Tour 2015, May 17-24, in Miami and Port St. Lucie, FL.
“To partner with an exciting, innovative new sport in America that’s transcending borders worldwide is a privilege,” said GolfNews Magazine & GolfNewsMag.com founder and publisher Dan Poppers. “A sport that combines golf and soccer is an imaginative endeavor that is attracting thousands and thousands of participants every day – both players and golf course operators. It is an honor to associate with the original, official FootGolf organization in North America- the American FootGolf League and the leadership.”
“The U.S. Pro-Am FootGolf Tour invites both men and women to play and compete,” said AFGL president Laura Balestrini. “Having three female players sponsored will hopefully open the door for other women to step out and play, and compete at the highest levels. We are very grateful to Dan Poppers and Golf News Magazine for taking the lead in bringing more women into this new sport.”
The U.S. FootGolf Pro-Am Tour commences on May 17-19 at Melreese Country Club in Miami, FL; and then moves to PGA Village and the St. Lucie Trail course May 22-24. Footgolfers from 14 countries will be playing for a $35,000 total purse combined in both events.
