May 18 event showcases best female high school golfers in Georgia
COLUMBUS, GA (May XX, 2015) – Maple Ridge Golf Club will host the Georgia State AAAAA Girls State Golf Championship on Monday, May 18. More than 70 teams from across the state will compete for top honors in Division 5-A of the Georgia High School Association’s annual tournament.
Teams will begin play on Hole No. 1 and Hole No. 10 with tee times in 10-minute intervals, beginning at 8:10 a.m. Returning 5-A Champions Cambridge High School in Milton will face a challenging field in the one-day tournament.
“Maple Ridge is honored to host this tournament featuring Georgia’s top female high school golfers,” said Mike Gill, general manager at Maple Ridge Golf Club. “It’s a time for these young competitors to play on a state level and a chance for us to welcome people from across the state to our beautiful course.”
Co-designed by 1987 Masters winner and Columbus resident Larry Mize, the course is open for year-round play.
