BELLINGHAM, Wash. – SteelFiber graphite iron shafts by Aerotech Golf claimed top money on the LPGA and Champions Tour this week. The No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf delivered the victory at the Kingsmill Championship on the LPGA Tour as well as two Top 10s at the Regions Tradition on the Champions Tour.
Playing SteelFiber i80 graphite shafts in her irons, the LPGA Tour rookie shot 15-under (68-67-69-65) for her first career victory at the Kingsmill Championship. The champion becomes the seventh player to win on the LPGA before her 19th birthday, and she jumped 40 spots (No. 59 to No. 19) in the Rolex World Women’s Golf Rankings. Meanwhile at the Regions Tradition on the Champions Tour, two players relied on SteelFiber performance. One veteran pro shot an 11-under par for a two-way split of third-place, and another player returned to competition after battling an elbow injury and scored a T9 finish.
“This week’s champion on the LPGA Tour is an extremely talented, young player, and we congratulate her on a terrific first win,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “Whether you’re an 18-year-old rookie, a senior player or anyone in between, SteelFiber graphite irons shafts deliver game-changing performance benefits that are unlike any other shafts in golf today. SteelFiber shafts provide greater vibration dampening and reduces player fatigue, while simultaneously delivering the consistency and accuracy generally associated with steel shafts.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
In 2014, SteelFiber shafts delivered seven wins – three on the PGA Tour and two each on the Champions and LPGA Tours. The previous tour season was equally successful with SteelFiber chalking up five wins on the PGA TOUR and two more on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List.
