• Dogwoods Golf Course (18-hole weekend rates start at $39): Calling Hugh White State Park home, Dogwoods is a Gary Roger Baird design and award-winning layout. The course’s signature hole – the par-5, ninth – is perched high above stunning Grenada Lake, and wide open fairways coupled with large greens make it a popular place to play. • Mallard Pointe Golf Course & Villas ($50 for 18 holes / holiday rates): Located an hour south of Memphis in Northern Mississippi, this Bob Cupp-designed course is at John W. Kyle State Park. Home to rolling hills and clever greens surrounded by bodies of water, beautiful backdrops grace the park’s landscape, and players can enjoy villa accommodations steps away from the fairways.
• LeFleur’s Bluff Golf Course ($13 for 9 holes): Lying in state capital Jackson is 9-hole LeFleur’s Bluff, part of LeFleur’s Bluff State Park. Both are named after Louis LeFleur, a French-Canadian explorer who established a trading post on the banks of the Pearl River in the late 1700s. The course consists of rolling terrain, scenic holes and multiple teeing areas.
