Club’s week of event raises money, awareness for national charity
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC — (May 29, 2015) – For the third year in a row, the members of Bear Creek Country Club have participated in a week of special events to raise funds for Memory Matters, a national charity with a strong presence on Hilton Head Island.
“Our members enthusiastically support the mission of Memory Matters and look forward to our annual fund-raising events,” said Brett Heisler, PGA, general manager and director of golf at the club. “Nationally, Memory Matters was named the PGA Charity Organization of the Year. It’s a fantastic one-of-a-kind charity that really makes a difference for patients with Alzheimer’s and memory loss, and their families.”
Over the past three years, Bear Creek has donated $10,415 to this important cause.
“Our members are truly amazing,” Heisler said. “The majority of our funds raised were from donations to participate in golfing events, bridge tournaments and luncheons. However, we had one member who offered a member challenge match for donations within a certain time period. We are proud to continue to support Memory Matters.”
