BELLINGHAM, Wash. – SteelFiber graphite shafts by Aerotech Golf continue to ride a wave of success on the pro tours. This weekend, SteelFiber shafts delivered a share of fourth-place at the Manulife LPGA Classic, and three Top 10s, including two T2 finishes, at the Principal Charity Classic on the Champions Tour.
Playing SteelFiber i95s in her irons, the 19-year-old LPGA rookie shot a 16-under (69-66-70-67) to score a T4 on the Manulife LPGA Classic, and she was also awarded the Kia Most Compelling Performance Award for her tour performance for the month of May. While at the Principal Charity Classic on the Champions Tour, SteelFiber shafts locked up both shares of second-place, as one T2 player scored with SteelFiber i110s in his irons and the other second-place finisher played with hls75 hybrid shafts. SteelFiber i110 irons also landed a T5 finish.
“SteelFiber graphite irons shafts are changing the way players, both professional and amateur alike, think about their iron performance,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “The basic steel shaft design has remained relatively unchanged for more than 80 years, and the innovative SteelFibers technology is a real game changer. By combining the power of graphite and the stability of Steel, SteelFiber graphite iron shafts provide greater vibration dampening, reduce player fatigue and increased clubhead speed as well as deliver steel-like consistency and accuracy.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
In 2014, SteelFiber shafts delivered three victories on the PGA Tour and two wins on both the Champions and LPGA Tours. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List.
