Dockstader combines leadership roles for operations and business development
Lawrence, Kan. (June 16, 2015) – J.D. Dockstader, who was named chief business development officer for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) in 2014, has added the role of chief operating officer.
In his combined role, Dockstader will have oversight of all business development and operating functions for the nearly 18,000-member national association. He came to GCSAA in January 2014 after spending the previous seven years as director of commercial facilities for the city of Mesa, Ariz.
“We recognize that business development has to be aligned with everything we do operationally. With his additional responsibilities, J.D. gives us a direct point of contact to ensure everything we do fits our business model going forward,” said Rhett Evans, GCSAA chief executive officer.
Overall, Dockstader has more than 18 years of experience in strategic business development, including earlier tenures at Sprint; the UCCU Events Center on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah; and The Grand America Hotel, a 5-Diamond hotel in Salt Lake City.
In addition to naming Dockstader as COO, Eileen Bangalan was promoted to senior director, business strategy. In her new role, Bangalan will evaluate strategic objectives and assist department leaders in identifying and executing key initiatives. Bangalan joined GCSAA in 2009. A native of San Diego, she graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in business administration.
“With these most recent changes, I am excited to work alongside this executive team. Cam Oury, chief financial officer, along with J.D. and Eileen, are committed to serving our members,” said Evans. Together with the talented and dedicated staff at GCSAA we will continue to fulfill our mission and position ourselves to achieve our long-term vision.”
