Establishes best practices platform for implementing connectivity in golf course operations
(SARASOTA, Fla.) – GPS Industries (GPSI) – the world’s leading provider of telematics and fleet tracking technology for low speed vehicles – announces the launch of its “Troon Connectivity™ Program,” a best practices platform for its Visage Mobile Golf Information System and Visage Media Network.
The Phoenician Resort, a Troon Golf-managed property which partnered with GPSI earlier this year, is the first golf facility to employ this “Owner’s Manual” for Connected® Golf Car Facilities. GPSI rolled out the program upon delivery of The Phoenician’s new fleet of Club Car CONNECTED® Precedent i3 golf cars, each of which is outfitted with the most-up-to-date Visage software and a trial run of Golf Genius Software’s tournament management system.
To ensure optimal buy-in, Director of Golf Ryan McKay designated “Key Staff Members” in areas like golf operations, F&B, customer service, maintenance and agronomy, tournament events, and sales and marketing. A series of training seminars were conducted with these individuals, including multi-part “Connectivity™ University” sessions led by GPSI stakeholders.
“We’re very excited by the early returns we’ve seen at The Phoenician,” says Kris Strauss, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Troon Golf. “Guests have raved about the user-friendly interface and enhanced playing experience, while we have enjoyed increased revenues and improved fleet management capabilities.”
Not limited to Troon-managed properties, the new program is equally applicable to daily-fee, private, resort and municipal facilities.
“With nearly 1,000 partners worldwide and an exclusive partnership with Club Car, the world’s largest manufacturer of small-wheel electric vehicle, we’re the unquestioned category leader,” says Ben Porter, CEO of GPSI. “The trend in 2015 has been extremely encouraging, as we’re on track for our best year yet with more than 100 signed installation contracts year to date.”
The Visage system offers owners and operators an unparalleled platform to track, control and deliver content to their golf car fleets. Guests enjoy hole-by-hole graphics and flyovers, scoring and gaming, on-course food and beverage ordering, and addressable promotional messages on high-resolution 10-inch touch screens mounted to Club Car Precedent golf cars. Featuring in excess of 75 million-plus page views monthly, the Visage Media Network represents the largest connected global audience of golfers.
New applications are being developed to enable golfers to stay connected with their social media and professional networks while creating, managing and sharing user-generated content like personal golf statistics, photos and video.
Prevalent at public, private and resort golf courses, other marquee properties utilizing the Visage CONNECTIVITY™ platform include Congressional Country Club, Trump National Doral Miami and several TPC clubs such as San Antonio, Las Vegas and River Highlands. Recent additions include Turnberry Isle Resort (FL), Omni Interlocken (CO) and Journey at Pechanga (CA).
