More records broken by the 21-year-old Phenom en route to his second major title
WIXOM, Mich. – After setting numerous records with his 2015 Masters victory, Jordan Spieth followed it up with yet another magical Major Championship performance. His birdie on the 72nd hole set up his U.S. Open triumph.
Although the course was controversial, Chambers Bay offered the world’s best a true test of U.S. Open Golf – only 8 players were under par, led by Jordan’s 5-under 275.
“We really grinded this week. I didn’t have my best stuff, ball-striking, at all,” Jordan said. “We really grinded over those 4-5 footers and that was the difference.”
With this win, Jordan becomes the youngest to win two Major championships since 1922, the youngest U.S. Open winner since 1923 and only the 6th player in history to win both the Masters and the US Open in the same season.
“We want to congratulate Jordan on winning the second leg of the career Grand Slam,” said Dean Dingman, President SuperStroke Golf. “To win both the Masters and the U.S. Open in the same year is a rare feat and we are happy to be a part of the history.”
SuperStroke’s patented parallel technology design allows for even pressure in both hands, eliminating wrist movement in the putting stroke. This helps the golfer swing the putter more freely, making it easier to use the big muscles in the arms and shoulders, and minimizes one hand dominating the other.
SuperStroke (www.superstrokeusa.com) grips are long lasting and extremely shock absorbent. They are designed with a high-tech polyurethane material featuring cross traction technology that improves feel and tackiness. Combined with SuperStroke’s patented parallel technology further increases consistency and lowers scores for every level of golfer, even professionals.
