(RESTON, VA) – Women on Course (WOC) – America’s premier networking organization introducing women to golf and its amazing lifestyle – is marking its 10th Anniversary with the launch of “Cheers to 10 Years,” a year-long celebration of its members and guests.
To commemorate a decade of empowering tens of thousands of women through golf, WOC will conduct monthly giveaways, contests, lesson packages, special events and a grand prize drawing. The 12-month extravaganza culminates next June during Women’s Golf Month with the second annual “Clinics Across America,” WOC’s innovative series that is increasing female participation in the game.
“We are humbled by the overwhelming growth and support for Women on Couse,” says Donna Hoffman, Founder and President of WOC. “We’ve impacted so many women’s lives on and off the course, and this celebration thanks members for 10 great years while keeping an eye on the future.”
Founded by Hoffman in 2005, WOC has introduced or re-activated more than 30,000 women to golf. With a supportive environment featuring 2,000 annual golf and non-golf events like “Clinics & Cocktails,” and “Wine Without the 9,” women across America are improving skills, building confidence and forming lasting personal and business relationships.
“Women on Course is one of the largest new player development programs in the U.S., giving women across America opportunities for personal and professional development” says Kimberly Cayce, COO of WOC. “More than golf, this celebration is about empowering and inspiring women to become more visible in the places where big business gets done.”
Recognized for its unique approach of shifting focus away from score and competition, WOC nearly tripled its memberships in 2014. Expanding to more than 75 markets, more women are utilizing WOC to grow their networks by attending Signature Events, Play Days, joining its Facebook community and planning their golf calendars on Meet Up.
Corporate America is also playing a role in WOC expansion. Fortune 500 brands including Wells Fargo, Merrill Lynch, Accenture, Charles Schwab and Mass Mutual are leveraging WOC’s employee development programs and corporate memberships to further the professional growth of female executives, connect with the community and provide event sponsorship opportunities.
