(HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.) – The Sea Pines Resort congratulates Jeff Maggert – its player representative on both the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour – on winning the Shaw Charity Classic for his third Champions Tour title of the year on Sunday.
Played on Calgary’s Canyon Meadows in Alberta, Maggert birdied five of the last six holes on the front nine en route to a four-stroke victory. Maggert won the 2015 Senior U.S. Open on Sacramento’s Del Paso Country Club in June. In May, Maggert won his first senior major championship event in the Regions Tradition held on Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club in Birmingham.
Maggert has earned more than $20 million over a 28-year professional career highlighted by three PGA TOUR victories. He has also represented the U.S. in the Ryder Cup three times and in the Presidents Cup once. Maggert won his Champions Tour debut in March 2014 at the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic. He is scheduled to play in this week’s PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.
Maggert, a Sea Pines homeowner, supports Hilton Head’s premier destination by wearing The Sea Pines Resort and Harbour Town Golf Links logos on his shirts and golf bag during tournament competition. He also makes select appearances on behalf of the resort as his tournament schedule permits.
“Jeff is having an incredible season on the Champions Tour and we couldn’t be happier for him,” says Cary Corbitt, Vice President of Sports and Operations. “As both a fine family man and person, he exemplifies the ideals we strive for here at The Sea Pines Resort.”
