Front Royal, VA- MAPGA Professionals provided golf instruction for campers at Camp Fantastic in Front Royal, Virginia on Thursday, August 20th. Camp Fantastic started in 1983 and is Special Love’s hallmark program, offering a week-long adventure to children ages 7-17 who have received cancer-specific treatment within the past three years. Camp Fantastic provides young cancer patients with an opportunity to step back from the seriousness of their disease and enjoy normal childhood activities and the bonds of friendship with other children who share similar experiences. Camp Fantastic offers classes, recreation, themed adventures, campfires, and other exciting activities and a full staff of medical caregivers make it possible for children to attend in virtually any stage of treatment.
A special thank you to MAPGA Professionals Monte Goff, Assistant Professional at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, Chris Hall, Head Professional at Evergreen Country Club and Liz Cooper, MAPGA Player Development Director, as well as Assistant Professional Kyle Hevner from Blue Ridge Shadows for donating their time to provide such a memorable experience for the kids of Camp Fantastic. As usual, Golfzilla and the S.N.A.G. equipment were a huge hit. It was a great day for the kids as well as the instructors.
