Springfield, VA- Springfield Golf & Country Club’s Head PGA Professional Josh Tremblay and Assistant PGA Professional Tyler Bantle each played 100 holes as part of the PGA Golf Day fundraising campaign on Thursday, September 3rd. The two have raised over $6,400 combined thus far to benefit the MAPGA Scholarship Foundation as well as a charity of their choice. It was a hot, grueling day with temperatures in the mid 90’s. They started at 6:45am and finished at 6:25pm due to several holes being cart path only. To make it even more interesting they had several side bets to include skins, a ringer score and an individual 100 hole match.
In an effort to help MAPGA Professionals connect with their communities and to help grow the MAPGA Scholarship Foundation, the MAPGA is promoting PGA Golf Day as a fundraising avenue for the 2015 season. Over the last three years, the MAPGA has raised nearly $92,000 to support the Scholarship Foundation as well as local charities like Autism Speaks, Wounded Warriors, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, City Dogs Rescue and the Friends of the Rappahannock.
