(BURR RIDGE, IL) – Freedom Golf Association (FGA) is partnering with the Western Golf Association (WGA) to conduct a golf clinic for Disabled Veterans at the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois on Wednesday, Sept. 16th.
Disabled Veterans are invited to attend the clinic at no charge. Their day includes the clinic, lunch and complimentary admission into Wednesday’s practice round of the BMW Championship. Check-in for participants will be located at the Patriot’s Outpost behind the #8 green. The clinic will be held on the practice range at Conway Farms at 3:00 pm, and will include an appearance by a PGA Tour Professional who will be competing at the BMW Championship.
The BMW Championship is the third leg in the PGA Tour’s season-ending FedEx Cup Championship Playoff. The Top 30 players will qualify and move on to Atlanta for the Tour Championship.

Sylvester. “Our mission is to bring golf to the millions of physically challenged and special needs individuals. The game of golf can be a valuable, therapeutic experience for them, and we hope our Disabled Veterans will take advantage of what should be a fun and beneficial day.”
FGA was founded in July, 2012 by Sylvester, who became a triple amputee in 2011. Shortly after completing rehab, he attempted to hit golf balls at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club driving range. When long-time friend and Cog Hill owner, Frank Jemsek, asked what he was trying to do, E.Q. replied that he was “trying to hit golf balls without any feet and only one hand!” Asked if he was getting any help, E.Q. replied that he wasn’t, and the first step towards forming FGA was taken.
