Mizuno Expands No Up Charge Program To Include Custom Grips

Custom steel shafts and grips included with full-set purchase of Mizuno irons

Norcross, Georgia (Sept. 18, 2015) – Mizuno, a leader in iron technology and design, has revamped its custom program to make sure golfers are purchasing the right clubs, fit to their Swing DNA, not based on the upcharges that traditionally result from a fitting. Knowing the critical importance of custom fitting, specifically irons, Mizuno is expanding the no upcharge program on steel shafts, instituted in 2014, to include grips at no additional cost to customers purchasing a custom set of Mizuno irons.

“There is no substitute for having the correct shafts and grips on a custom-set of irons, so we have empowered the customer to purchase with confidence the irons that are perfect for their individual Swing DNA by eliminating hidden costs on shafts or grips,” said Chuck Couch, Vice President of Product Development, Golf Division, Mizuno USA. “Furthermore, there is an assumption that custom-fit golf clubs only help the low-handicap players, but this is far from the truth. We also see greater performance benefits amongst mid to high-handicap golfers using custom irons.”

Custom fitting has been at the forefront of Mizuno philosophy for more than 10 years. This update further validates Mizuno’s belief in the value of customization and commitment to innovations, like the Performance Fitting System (PFS) and proprietary “shaft optimizer,” which scientifically analyzes the golf swing in five different areas to create the most optimum fit for a golfer’s specific needs.
