CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – A handcrafted cherry wood “Honor Roll Panel” highlighting the individuals and golf clubs who have received awards for making significant contributions to the Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund (WGACSF), was on-site at the inaugural Friends of the Fund Best Ball tournament at Hudson National Golf Club.
The WGA-CSF Honor Roll Panel is not only an enduring testament to CSF contributors, it also encourages new and existing donors to increase their contribution to the Fund.
The Honor Roll Panel was created by Pat Morell, a master craftsman and woodworking artist who has served the golf industry for more than four decades. “We are proud to have produced this beautiful piece for the Westchester Golf Association that will permanently honor the donors who have made the WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund possible,” said Morell, who created the official trophies for the PGA Player of the Year and PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
The WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund was established in 1956 to provide college scholarships to students with financial need. Since its inception, the CSF has provided more than ten million dollars in aid to more than twenty-four hundred students who have provided a minimum of two seasons of service at a WGA member club. This could include caddying, golf course maintenance, or work in the pro shop, bag room or on the practice range.
Morell Studios’ prestigious client list includes the PGA of America, the Nicklaus Companies, The First Tee, the Metropolitan Golf Association and the Westchester Golf Association. In addition, the company has worked with some of the country’s most renowned golf clubs including Oakmont Country Club, Muirfield Village, Seminole Golf Club, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and The Bear’s Club to name a few.
At present, Morell Studios is a corporate partner of the Metropolitan PGA Section, the New Jersey PGA Section and the New England PGA Section. Morell Studios is also a new Corporate Trustee Partner of The First Tee nationally.
