Spieth regained World #1 ranking with 5th win of the season
WIXOM, Mich. – SuperStroke Golf ambassador, Jordan Spieth, continued to rewrite the PGA Tour record books after he claimed his fifth win of the season at the TOUR Championship. He is now the youngest player to win five or more events since 1929. This win not only jumped him back to #1 in the Official World Golf Rankings but it also gave him the FedEx Cup and the $10 million prize that came with it. Jordan’s season consisted of 5 wins, two of which were major championships, and 15 total top-10′ finishes – all that adds up to over $22 million in winnings, making Spieth’s season the most lucrative ever on the PGA Tour.
”This is incredible,” Spieth said. ”This is an event where we approached it like a major championship. I didn’t have a great playoff, but I put a lot into this week. Mentally, I stayed in it. And boy, that putter sure paid off.”
Jordan’s putting might have been the main reason for his 4-shot victory in the season’s final event. He led the field in Strokes Gained Putting (7.036) and in scrambling (84%).
“We want to congratulate Jordan on his incredible season,” said Greg Sabella, VP of Marketing, SuperStroke Golf. “To win both the Masters and the U.S. Open in the same year was already an amazing achievement but to validate the year by taking home the FedEx Cup made this one of the greatest single seasons in PGA Tour history.”
Jordan will also take home both the Vardon Trophy and the Points-Based PGA of America Player of the Year award. He becomes the 2nd youngest player to capture both in the same year.
SuperStroke Golf continued to be dominant over on the Web.com Tour. A Legacy 2.0 was in the hands of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship winner. This was the player’s first victory on the Web.com Tour. The win also helped the player earn his PGA Tour card for the 2015/2016 season.
In the three Web.com playoff events, SuperStroke putter grips were used in two victories (The Hotel Fitness Championship and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship) and a tie for second in a third event (Small Business Connection Championship).
SuperStroke’s patented parallel technology design allows for even pressure in both hands, eliminating wrist movement in the putting stroke. This helps the golfer swing the putter more freely, making it easier to use the big muscles in the arms and shoulders, and minimizes one hand dominating the other.
SuperStroke (www.superstrokeusa.com) grips are long lasting and extremely shock absorbent. They are designed with a high-tech polyurethane material featuring cross traction technology that improves feel and tackiness. Combined with SuperStroke’s patented parallel technology further increases consistency and lowers scores for every level of golfer, even professionals.
