The USA Junior Golf Team Director Tom Relf has announced a partnership with a UK-based sports academy to launch the Junior Links Cup, a 72-hole stroke play competition to be played over the historic links courses in St Andrews, Scotland. Visit www.jrlinkscup.com for information about the 2016 championship.
The competition will provide an outstanding development opportunity for Junior Golfers in the USA to gain vital links experience at the Home of Golf, St Andrews.
“The opportunity for junior golfers from across North America to compete in St. Andrews, Scotland is the opportunity of a lifetime”. “There is no place in golf like St. Andrews and playing some of the greatest links golf courses for 72 holes will provide these juniors golfers a valuable experience in their development as golfers” commented Tom Relf, USA Junior Golf Team Director.
The Junior Links Cup in June 2016 will provide the platform for junior US amateur golfers to compete under tournament conditions against International junior golfers.
This unique links experience will create a competitive environment for players to expand their golfing knowledge while practicing and competing over the renowned St Andrews Jubilee and Eden Courses against the backdrop of the world-famous golfing town.
Professional golf coaches from the USA and Scotland will work together to provide expert advice on how to play the many challenging shots only found on a links golf course.
Off-course workshops and seminars will give players further knowledge of USA College Golf, Performance Golf, including TrackMan, Links Short-Game, and Lifestyle coaching. These seminars will also be open to friends and others accompanying players to the competition.
On-course coaching will be provided by a highly qualified team made up of qualified coaching professionals and performance sport experts, who will be on hand throughout to offer advice and information on how to play those crucial shots on a links course.
Players will emerge from this once-in-a-lifetime experience with a rounded approach to their game, new friends and with the knowledge needed to succeed as a performance golfer.
CT Sports Academy was founded by Kevin Cademy-Taylor who was previously performance manager with both Scottish and English Golf Unions.
Kevin Cademy-Taylor, Performance Manager of CT Sports Academy, said: “I am hugely excited about the prospect of hosting the next generation of top US golfers at the Home of Golf.”
