CHICAGO, IL, OCTOBER 6, 2015: OBAN congratulates seven Tour players with final rankings in the top fifty following a season-long quest to earn a 2016 Tour card. Finishing with an overall third place ranking, the 32-year-old South Africa native played three OBAN Kiyoshi shafts at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Florida this past weekend; a Kiyoshi HB 75 in his TaylorMade SLDR driver, a Kiyoshi Gold 75 in this TaylorMade Burner 3-wood, and a Kiyoshi Purple 100 in his Adams Pro hybrid. Finishing sixth, the 28-year-old Swede played a Kiyoshi Purple 65 in his TaylorMade Burner 3-wood, and right behind him in seventh, the 27-year-old California native played a Kiyoshi HB 75 in his Nike Vapor driver and a Kiyoshi HB 85 in his Nike Vapor 3-wood.

“Our Kiyoshi shafts were embraced by over 60 of the professionals on this Tour vying to earn the chance to move on to the next level,” commented Josh Shook, OBAN Tour Representative. “We applaud the success of the seven players who were awarded a card, and take pride in the impact and performance of our Kiyoshi shafts throughout the season.”

OBAN’s Kiyoshi HB (High Balance) affords custom fitters a wider range of options for optimizing club head weight and shaft length combinations that deliver greater speed and distance. OBAN engineers moved the shaft’s CG (center of gravity) toward the grip end of the club, creating a prime counter balance effect. The shaft design preserves symmetry and stability throughout the golf swing, maximizing energy transfer to the ball at impact.

Kiyoshi Purple’s unique structure reveals design properties ideal for creating high launch and low spin performance for longer distance and tighter dispersion. The shaft is fabricated using OBAN’s revolutionary Emersion Wrapped Frequency (EWF) Technology, a proprietary design process combining high modulus and ultra-thin carbon fiber sheets for multi-directional shaft strength, enabling significantly improved torque control, bend points, and stability with less ovalization.

OBAN’s Kiyoshi Gold, designed to meet the performance characteristics of the latest low spin driver heads, has a softer bend profile that allows for high launch and mid spin characteristics.
