EWGA Salutes Sacramento Member Karen Garcia, Winner Of U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Championship

Palm Beach Gardens, FL – A member of the Sacramento, CA Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA), Karen Garcia has won the USGA’s U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship held at Hillwood Country Club in Nashville, TN.
“We are so proud of Karen’s accomplishment,” says Pam Swensen, CEO of the EWGA. “Ever since she captured the championship, our EWGA emails and social media have been flooded with news and links about her achievement. As an organization, we pledge to help women become confident and competent golfers and Karen takes that to a new level. She is now among the USGA Championship winners forever recognized in the USGA Museum in Far Hills, NJ.”
Garcia, a high school guidance counselor from Cool, CA, about an hour’s drive east of Sacramento is now exempt into the next 10 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championships and also exempt into the 2016 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, to be held at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, PA.
“I appreciate the support from everyone at EWGA. My continued involvement has always been about building friendships and helping others,” says Garcia. “I love our Chapters’ emphasis on education and philanthropic work with The First Tee among other groups. My friendships with fellow members are cherished and our events are always a welcome break from competitive golf. I am very proud to be a member of EWGA.”
