Stafford, VA – One word can best describe the three Middle Atlantic PGA Professionals who were crowned the 2015 OMEGA Middle Atlantic PGA Player of the Year winners: “Consistent”. Congratulations to David Hutsell, Rick Schuller, and Ashley Grier on winning the Player of the Year in their respective categories on Tuesday, October 6th at Williamsburg Golf Club in Williamsburg, VA. Hutsell, Schuller, and Grier have won a total of 11 Player of the Year awards since 2009.

In the OMEGA Open Category, David Hutsell, Assistant PGA Professional at Woodholme Country Club in Pikesville, Md., won his third Player of the Year award in the past six years. Out of the 12 Open events Hutsell played in this year, he finished in first place in four of them, including an exciting come-from-behind win at the Section Professional Championship at Congressional Country Club. Rick Schuller, Head PGA Professional at Swaders Sports Park in Chesterfield, Va., won the 2015 OMEGA Senior Player of the Year award, making it his second Senior Player of the Year award in the last three years. The reigning Open Category Player of the Year winner, Schuller led throughout much of the year after he finished in the top three in seven of the 12 events he played in this year. Schuller now has a total of four Player of the Year awards in the past seven years. In the Women’s Category, Ashley Grier, PGA of Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Md., won her fourth consecutive Women’s Player of the Year award. After finishing tied for 8th place at the Section Professional Championship, Grier became only the second MAPGA female professional to qualify for the PGA Professional National Championship. Grier finished in the top five in three of the seven OMEGA Women’s POY events she participated in this season.

At the beginning of 2015, the PGA of America and OMEGA reached an agreement for OMEGA to become the Presenting Sponsor of the national PGA Professional Player of the Year awards for 2015, as well as Section Players of the Year.
