Golf 8.5 Creator Kay McMahon Will Join Pat Bradley At GIGL Girls Golf Outing Near Boston Nov. 1

LENOX, MA (October 21 2015) – LPGA Hall of Fame instructor Kay McMahon of eduKaytion golf will join World Golf Hall of Fame player Pat Bradley to conduct a clinic prior to the Girls Independent Golf League tournament on Nov. 1 near Boston.

The GIGL event, which is expected to attract over 150 junior girls from across New England, begins at 10:30 a.m. at MGA Links at Mamantapett, MA. GIGL was created two years ago by Dave Barend, a father of two young girls who wanted to learn how to play golf after watching the Solheim Cup on TV.

“There are no other all girls youth golf leagues anywhere in New England,” said Barend. “And only a very few high schools even have girls golf teams. So we created GIGL.”

“These young girls are the future of our game,” said Bradley, winner of 31 LPGA Tour events and six major championships. “I look forward to spending the day helping and encouraging the girls to enjoy the game, and to watching them play the course.”

McMahon, President of eduKaytion golf, will work with the juniors using the Golf 8.5 teaching approach that she created years ago, simplifying how golf is taught and learned.

“Golf 8.5 is a perfect approach for important groups like GIGL,” said McMahon, a member of the Golf Digest Top 50 Women Instructors list. “GIGL has a variety of skill levels among its participants. Through Golf 8.5, new players gain an immediate grasp of the golf swing, and experienced players learn how to quickly fix any swing faults that pop up. So every GIGL member can take something away from that day.”

Golf 8.5 starts from the beginning and allows students to understand the how and why of the golf swing. The Golf 8.5 method de-clutters your brain, teaching you step-by-step the 4 things to do before the swing and the 4.5 things to do in swing.

The learning curve is fast-tracked, and by the time students learn the 8.5 things to do to achieve a classic, consistent golf swing, they’ll be saying, “It’s so simple.”
