Boyne Golf Academy’s Brian O’Neill Named One Of Best Teachers In Michigan By Golf Digest

(HARBOR SPRINGS, Mich.) – BOYNE Golf – home to 11 premier golf courses spanning three resorts in the scenic northwest corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula – announces Golf Digest has named BOYNE Golf Academy’s Brian O’Neill one of Michigan’s best instructors.

The biennial “Best Teachers in Your State” rankings are based on a nationwide survey of more than 1,200 teaching professionals.

With Boyne for nearly 25 years, O’Neill trained under the late Jim Flick who served as swing coach for Jack Nicklaus, Tom Lehman and IK Kim, among other PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour professionals. O’Neill works with many of the Midwest’s most talented amateurs.

“It is certainly an honor to be recognized by my peers for a job I am so passionate about,” says O’Neill. “The state of Michigan has some of the most talented teachers in the country and to be included among the best is very humbling.”

Among his myriad contributions to the Academy, he has been instrumental in its adoption of the ground breaking GEARS Golf System. The market’s most-advanced full-swing club and body tracking platform, it uses full 3D technology to measure and analyze every swing nuance from address to follow through. Data is recorded with 26 sensors strategically placed at key spots on the body, plus six more sensors on the club, and eight high-speed cameras running at 36 frames per second.

GEARS joins TrackMan, the acclaimed ball-flight launch monitor, at the Academy. Together they lead a powerful, state-of-the-art game-improvement menu that’s unmatched in the state.

O’Neill, along with his coaching team – Director of Player Performance Mike Fay and Senior Teaching Professional Barry Redmond – is dedicated to making golf more fun for players of all ages and abilities. Favorites include the Nike Junior Golf Program, Golf Performance Experience, Fore Ladies Only, junior camps, the Couples Getaway Golf School and more.

BOYNE Golf Academy is located at five-course Boyne Highlands Resort, one of BOYNE Golf’s three flagship properties.
