Lon Grundy joins award-winning golf community along Georgia’s Lake Oconee
GREENSBORO, Ga. (Oct. 26, 2015) – Reynolds Lake Oconee has selected Lon Grundy as its new General Manager.
Grundy comes to Reynolds with more than 25 years of success in golf and club management. In his new role, he will oversee operations at the award-winning golf community on approximately 10,000 acres surrounding northeast Georgia’s Lake Oconee. Reynolds Lake Oconee comprises six golf courses designed by some of the greatest names in the game, as well as golf clubhouse facilities, the Reynolds Golf Academy, four marinas, the Lake Club wellness center, and an award-winning tennis center.
“After a nationwide search of the best club managers in the country, Lon quickly rose to the top,” said Tim Hong, chief operating officer of Reynolds, in making a joint announcement with John Gunderson, president Daniel Corporation’s community division, the asset manager for the property. “Lon’s strong leadership skills, his impressive background, and his focus on member and guest experiences are easily recognizable.”
A member of the PGA of America, Grundy has worked for Hilton Golf, Troon Golf, and Marriott Golf. He joins Reynolds after serving as executive director at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif., where he was responsible for all club operations, including the oversight of nine championship courses, a team of 525 employees, and five clubhouses.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Grundy studied business marketing at the University of North Texas before moving to Arizona in 1993 to pursue a career in club management with Marriott. Grundy and his wife Kim have two sons.
