KATY, TX – Heritage Golf Group proudly congratulates Layne Ricks, General Manager of Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club (a Heritage Golf Group property), for being this year’s Patriot Award Winner presented at the 2015 Southern Texas PGA (STPGA) Awards. The STPGA Patriot Award is presented in special recognition to an individual PGA Golf Professional for outstanding and continuing contributions to the PGA of America’s efforts that that benefit our servicemen and women and their families, including Patriot Golf Day and the Folds of Honor Foundation.
Ricks has been the General Manager of Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club since 2006. Furthermore, he has been a PGA of America member since 1986. Ricks, a long time Katy, TX resident, has held prominent teaching and management positions at Lochinvar, Meadowbrook Farms School of Golf, Tennwood, Glen Oaks of New York, River Ridge, and Cinco Ranch Golf Clubs.
Ricks has been dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the PGA TOUR Charities, Inc.’s Birdies for the Brave® program, a national military outreach initiative dedicated to support military homefront charities that provide critical services to meet the specialized needs of military members, wounded veterans and their families. Since 2008, Ricks and his team of member volunteers have raised almost $1M. For the upcoming Birdies for the Brave event on November 7, 2015, Ricks has facilitated the donation of a new mortgage-free home to a military veteran. The home was provided by the Military Warriors Support Foundation; a non-profit organization providing support for America’s wounded veterans as they transition into civilian life.
