$1 for HOPE, Red, White and You charity golf tournament, Homes4WoundedHeroes highlight month’s events
(PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.) – PGA Golf Club will celebrate “Patriot Golf Month” throughout November, featuring $1 for HOPE, the Red, White and You charity Golf Tournament, Down Range Clinic, and the donation of a home to a combat wounded veteran via Military Warriors Support Foundation’s “Homes4WoundedHeroes.”
Proceeds from all events benefit PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America and Folds of Honor Foundation. Patriot Golf Month kicks-off with $1 for HOPE, as golfers are encouraged to donate $1 with their round to support PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere).
The Red, White, and You Charity Golf Tournament follows on November 15 starting at 8:30 a.m. with a Shotgun-Scramble format and post-event celebration at 2 p.m. Also on the 15th, PGA Golf Club will host its inaugural Down Range Clinic introducing golf to veterans while enhancing their mental, social, physical and emotional well-being.
The day will be capped by the Military Warriors Support Foundation’s award of a deed to a 100% mortgage-free home to local hero and U.S. Marine Corp veteran Daniel Votrobek and his family. Military Warriors Support Foundation is a non-profit charity founded by Lt. General Leroy Sisco (Ret.) in 2007. Its mission is to provide support for our nation’s wounded heroes and their families as they transition out of the military and into civilian life.
“Supporting our country’s veterans and enriching their lives through golf is a core mission of the PGA of America, PGA REACH and PGA HOPE,” says PGA Golf Club General Manager Jimmy Terry. “We’re excited and honored to host Patriot Golf Month and look forward to it becoming a core component of our community outreach.”
Red, White and You is sold out, however hole sponsorships, food and beverage partnerships and silent auction items are still available. Interested parties can contact Alicia Clark at aclark@pgahq.com or 800-800-GOLF (4653).
