Program features TPI circuit training, yoga and more
(BOERNE, Texas) – Cordillera Ranch – the Hill Country’s premier private club and community – announces its new “Golf Meritage” program combining golf instruction, conditioning, Titleist Performance Institute (TPI)-based circuit training, Yoga for Golfers, nutrition, wellness and more.
Golf Meritage utilizes methods from both professional golf instruction and renowned fitness programs. Strength training, flexibility, endurance, power and stability are hallmarks, with an emphasis on explosiveness of the golf swing from the set-up to the follow-through.
Participating golfers experience fewer aches and pains, and enjoy increased participation in both golf and other activities. Members are given specialized and individual attention based on unique strengths and physical limitations.
One of the most popular installments of the program is the Yoga for Golfers class. Yoga for Golfers is designed to improve golf swings and body composition by practicing carefully chosen yoga poses that improve flexibility, strength and mindfulness.
“The Golf Meritage program benefits golfers of all ages and skill levels, and mirrors the golf fitness/instruction programs used by the top players on the PGA TOUR” says Ann-Kristin Allen, golf fitness instructor at Cordillera Ranch. “Participants truly benefit from stability, mobility, power and endurance on and off the course.”
The program, taught in tandem by Allen and her husband Gevin, focus on power and explosiveness of the golf swing from the set-up to the follow-through. Gevin serves as the PGA Director of Instruction at Cordillera Ranch (TPI certified in Golf Mechanics level 3), while Ann-Kristin is the Golf Fitness Instructor at the club (TPI certified in Golf Fitness level 3, Yoga for Golfers certification level 2). Together, they bridge golf and body mechanics to help improve members’ golf games and overall fitness.
Along with focusing on exercise and healthy living at the Golf Club, The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch also offers residents its award-winning 40,000 square-foot clubhouse and six other resort-style clubs – The Social Club, The Tennis and Swim Club, The Equestrian Club, The Rod and Gun Club, The Spa and Athletic Club and The River Club.
Considered one of the most desirable Hill Country addresses, Cordillera Ranch continues to grow at a rapid pace. It recently unveiled its newest neighborhood, The Springs of Cordillera Ranch, combining modern amenities with a traditional Texas Hill Country setting.
Community honors continue to roll in as well. The Dallas Morning News ranked its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course top-5 in Texas for the seventh consecutive year, and Where to Retire Magazine named Cordillera Ranch one of the “50 Best Master-Planned Communities in the U.S.”
