Newnan, Ga. (December 3, 2015) – Yamaha Golf Car Company has announced that Mike Ellis, the company’s district sales manager for North Texas, has earned the Leon Faucett Award from the Northern Texas PGA, honoring the section’s “Sales Representative of the Year.”

Ellis will formally receive the honor at the Section Awards Banquet to be held Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Four Seasons Resort and Club in Irving. The award is named after Leon Faucett, Ping’s very first sales representative and an elder statesman of golf in the country.

“The Yamaha family is thrilled for Mike’s recognition,” said Yamaha President Tom McDonald. “It speaks to the sense of professionalism, camaraderie and caring for the sport of golf that he brings to life every day.”

Based in Arlington, Texas, Ellis has been selling and marketing Yamaha Golf Cars for 26 years, first as a distributor and then as an in-house sales professional. His positions with the company have included Distributor Regional Manager and Factory Branch Manager.

Yamaha played an additional role in the awards as a co-sponsor of the Northern Texas PGA Section’s “Player of the Year Award,” won by Stuart Deane, PGA golf coach at the University of Texas at Arlington. Deane won the section’s year-ending Yamaha Golf Car/Lajitas Golf Resort Match Play Championship held in October.

Each year the Northern Texas PGA Section recognizes its members and others in the golf community through the NTPGA Awards program. A complete list of award winners is available through the following link: www.ntpga.com/award-winners.html
