(RESTON, VA) – Steve Loesher, Regional Director of Instruction for Billy Casper Golf (BCG), has won the PGA of America’s Middle Atlantic Section 2016 Player Development Award.
Loesher was selected by his peers for extraordinarily supporting the PGA’s “Play Golf America” initiative and creating other highly-successful grow-the-game programs for golfers of all ages and abilities at 18 BCG-managed facilities.
At Reston National Golf Course’s Nike Golf Learning Center – which Loesher introduced in 2000 – a record number of golfers have improved their skills through his entertaining summer camps, competitive junior leagues and “Tee it Up” series.
In addition to his impact at Reston National, Loesher collaborates with PGA professionals to develop golf education curriculums at BCG’s 1757 Golf Club, RedGate, Broad Run, Prince William, Forest Greens, Lake Ridge, General’s Ridge and other courses.
“We assembled an amazing group of instructors who are getting men, women, juniors and seniors hooked on golf,” says Loesher, who is in his fourth year with BCG. “This honor is truly theirs as we create and execute exciting and engaging player development structures together.”
Loesher is also fueling golf’s popularity among females through Women on Course, America’s fastest growing women’s golf organization. Women are discovering BCG courses in droves, turning to their supportive atmospheres to learn and play golf, build confidence and make new friends.
