Orlando, Fla.- Ed Bowe, the Director of Golf Instruction for the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Golf Academy, has been named a lead coach of Golf Channel Academy.

A teaching professional for the past 25 years, Bowe is among the game’s most influential and recognizable coaches coming together to establish a dedicated network of instruction facilities with the active support of Golf Channel, the game’s leading global multimedia and golf entertainment source.

“I am very excited to be among the first teachers associated with the new, dynamic Golf Channel Academy,” said Bowe, a Class A PGA of America member who has traveled throughout the world and worked with some of the game’s elite coaches, including World Golf Hall of Famer John Jacobs and Hank Haney.

“This is a chance for golf instructors to work together, learning from one another and adopting best practices in both teaching and the business of teaching,” added Bowe, former Director of Golf Instruction for ESPN Golf Schools. “I think it’s going to propel the coaches and coaching forward in a big way.”

Golf Channel Academy is the first network of its kind devoted to efficiently growing the business of golf instruction. With 59 charter locations already committed, Golf Channel Academy will be inviting additional coaches to become part of the network.

The Golf Channel Academy in Amelia Island is located at the prestigious Long Point Golf Course, adjacent to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. Programming will be under the direction of Bowe, who co-starred with Haney on ESPN International’s “Tips from the Pros” series and has been a featured instructor for several network programs, including ESPN SportsNation.

Prior to joining the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort in 2007, Bowe taught at Hank Haney Golf as a Hank Haney PRO4 Certified Instructor, and for the Golf Digest Schools.
