Orlando, Fla. (Jan. 6, 2016) – Kandi Comer, owner of Kandi Comer Golf, located at Old Trail Golf Club in Crozet, Va., near Charlottesville, has been named an instructor for Golf Channel Academy.
Kandi is ranked among the top coaches in Virginia by Golf Digest magazine. She has been teaching professionally for 25 years and is considered one of the top coaches in the Middle Atlantic PGA Section.
“I’m very excited to be among the coaches associated with the dynamic Golf Channel Academy,” said Comer. “This is a great opportunity for golf coaches to work together, learning from one another, and adopting best coaching practices to better serve the golfers. My goal is to help clients learn to play, play better, and enjoy playing golf more.”

A U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Junior Instructor (honorable mention), Comer specializes in developing up-and-coming juniors and players of all skill levels. More than 60 of her students have gone on to play college golf, and she has had players compete in several USGA championships, including the U.S. Junior Amateur, U.S. Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur and U.S. Open. In 2005 she was selected as the Middle Atlantic PGA Section’s Junior Golf Leader of the Year for her outstanding work with juniors.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Comer was a member of the 1986 Curtis Cup team and played in five U.S. Women’s Open Championships, finishing 15th in 1987 at Plainfield Country Club in New Jersey..
