Leishman, a major contender and Presidents Cup member last year, adds to Callaway’s strong momentum on Tour
CARLSBAD, Calif., Jan 7th, 2016 – Today Callaway Golf Company (NYSE: ELY) officially announced that Marc Leishman has joined the company as a Staff Pro. He will use Callaway Clubs, a Callaway Golf Ball, an Odyssey Putter, and wear a Callaway Hat on Tour.
A long hitter off the tee, Leishman is on the rise after a tremendous 2015 campaign that included a runner-up finish at the Open Championship, where he carded a final round 66 to earn his spot in a 3-man playoff. He also made his 2nd consecutive Presidents Cup appearance for the International Team in October, and beat the top ranked player in the world in his singles match. And in November, he won the Nedbank Challenge over a star-studded field for his 9th professional win.
“I’m really excited to be on the Callaway team,” Leishman said. “I’ve seen firsthand how their equipment has helped players out on Tour, and I’m looking forward to playing with the new clubs and having a great year.”
Leishman enters the year as the 25th ranked player in the world. He joins an impressive Callaway Tour team that features 6 of the top 20 players in the world – including Kevin Kisner, Henrik Stenson, Jim Furyk, and Patrick Reed – a long list of young, proven players like Lydia Ko, Emiliano Grillo and Ollie Schniederjens among many others, and 5-time major winner Phil Mickelson. Leishman will play primarily on the PGA Tour in 2016.
